'True Detective' Season 2 New Trailer News: HBO Releases First Teaser [VIDEO]

The wait is finally over as HBO has released the trailer for Season 2 of the highly-anticipated TV series, "True Detective'.

The season of the show will star Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams and is set to premiere on June 21, 2015, along with the new series starring Dwayne Johnson, "Ballers.'

The first season starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as a pair of Louisiana State Police detectives, which premiered in 2014.

Reportedly, the first two episodes were directed by Justin Lin, who is also directing the prequel to the "Star Trek' series, as the director of the first season Cary Fukunaga won't be returning. Also, Nic Pizzolatto, who created and wrote the script for the first season has written the script for the second season as well, according to Deadline.

HBO also released a summary for the next season, which is as follows:

"A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California.

Colin Farrell is Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective in the all-industrial City of Vinci, LA County.
Vince Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his life's work, while his wife and closest ally (Kelly Reilly), struggles with his choices and her own.

Rachel McAdams is Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff's detective often at odds with the system she serves, while Taylor Kitsch plays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle cop for the California Highway Patrol who discovers a crime scene which triggers an investigation involving three law enforcement groups, multiple criminal collusions, and billions of dollars."
