'True Detective' Season 2 Cast News: 'Dexter' Actor Tapped for Role in Upcoming HBO Series Renewal

Fans of 'True Detective' are eagerly absorbing all the news that has been released recently in regards to the second season's cast. Now, another report has been released saying that 'Dexter' actor, C.S. Lee, has been tapped to play a role in the HBO series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, C.S Lee took on the role of Dexter's lab partner, who went by the name of Vince Masuka, in the Showtime series. This time around, C.S Lee will portray the role of Richard Geldof in the upcoming season of 'True Detective'.

Fortunately for fans who are looking to pick up all the details about Season 2 before it airs, the character description for Geldof has already been released. Richard Geldof is an intelligent state attorney general who's looking to reach new heights in the political world.

Beyond that, the character can be described as an articulate and persuasive man who's sitting on a decent set of principles.

Setting that aside, and turning to some of the other casts that have been pegged for roles in 'True Detective' Season 2, some other interesting names come up.

'Mean Girls', 'The Notebook' and 'Sherlock Holmes' actress, Rachel McAdams, will take on the role of Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff with a strong set of unshifting beliefs.

Additionally, Taylor Kitsch has been recently tapped to play the role of a war veteran turned California Highway motorcycle patrol officer. Fans of the actor will know that he played the role of Tim Riggins in the television drama 'Friday Night Lights'.

With regards to the people behind the script and the production for the upcoming second season of 'True Detectives' Nic Pizzolatto's name rests at the top of the list. For those that may now know, Nic Pizzolatto is the man responsible for the critically acclaimed HBO series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer said, "It's a story that uses the popular genre of police investigation to conduct a more nuanced metaphysical investigation of its characters and their world," adding "In 'True Detective', the world itself is the crime... This corruption at the root of the world. The poison at the root of the world is humanity."

Evidently viewers who enjoyed Season 1 of 'True Detective' have a lot to look forward to as the series returns for Season 2. However, as of yet, there is no official release date slated for the upcoming installment.
