'True Detective' Season 2 Cast News: Actors and Actresses Confirmed for Upcoming HBO Series Installment

As fans are waiting for the upcoming second season of HBO's 'True Detective', rumors have been circulating about the new casts members that will be showcased in the series. Only recently, have the producers of the show shed light on the Season 2 'True Detective' cast.

Earlier on, it was rumored that Brad Pitt had shown interest in the second season of 'True Detective', however, that did not pan out and the actor will not be taking on a lead role in the series.

Actress Jessica Biel, native to Minnesota, also auditioned amongst seven other actresses and landed a role, but not a lead one. On that note, Rachel McAdams was also rumored to be cast onto the show.

Some of the series new comers will be Lolita Davidovich and James Frain who will play the roles of Nancy Simpson a heavy smoker in need of male attention and Jeff Hunt a callous lieutenant, respectively.

The second season of 'True Detective' will be about three police officers and a career criminal with a twisted conscience after the death of a business partner.

What has been confirmed is that Ireland's own Colin Farell, Vince Vaughn, and Taylor Kitsch (from season one) will appear in season two. Vince Vaughn plays the role of Frank Seymon; a career criminal attempting a bona fide life, but is tackled by the death of a business partner.

Colin Farrell plays the role of Ray Velcoro; a compromised detective who is tied between his corrupt seniors in the office and a mobster who owns him.

While Taylor Kitsch is set to play the role of a detective, Rachel McAdams also landed a lead role as a detective aimed to appeal to the fans similar to Matthew McConaughey's part as Rust Cohle in Season 1.

Michael Irby plays Elvis who is McAdams' partner, and Leven Rambin plays the role of a beautiful woman with a drug addiction. Last but note least, Abigail Spencer plays the role of a survivor of a sexual attack.

The filming of 'True Detective' Season 2 will be done in California with Justin Lin directing the first few episodes.
