'Tron 3' Spoilers News, Rumors: Third Installment to be Titled 'Ascension'?

It hasn't been long since it was announced that Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski would make a third Tron film. Now, it seems as though there is an official title for it as well.

In a tweet by Production Weekly they said, "Joseph Kosinski's TRON: ASCENSION is planning to film in Vancouver from Early-October 2015 thru February 2016."

It was noted by Screen Rant that this could be the official title since the same source credited the film Terminator film title, Terminator: Genisys.

Back in 2013, Kosinski hinted towards another Tron film while doing some press releases for his film, Oblivion.

"Tron 3 delivers on the promise of Tron: Legacy, particularly its final scenes," he said, "There's a big clue there as to where we'll go with the next one. There are also some characters we establish at the beginning of Tron: Legacy who have a much larger role in Tron 3."

The final scenes could indicate more plots about Olivia Wilde's character Quora. The end of Tron: Legacy revealed that the beautiful and last ISO could come from The Grid and enter real world. This ending, along with the speculated Ascension title, could reveal that others from her world have the capability of coming to Earth, creating the third film's plot.

However, nothing official has been confirmed. Everything right now is based on pure speculation. Screen Rant said, "It should be noted that when there was still a lot of momentum behind Tron 3 (in the wake of Tron 2), Kosinski himself hinted that he already had a title in mind for Tron 3 - one that would directly build off the big development of Legacy."

Garrett Hedlund, who played Sam Flynn, is the only one confirmed to reprise his role. Other cast member and production news will continue to be announced once filming and release dates are closer.
