'Transformers: The Last Knight' Rumors: Next Installment To Incorporate Legend Of King Arthur
The upcoming installment of "Transformers" looks to add something more to the excitement of fans aside from the mere sight of giant robots turning into vehicles.
Recent reports about "Transformers: The Last Knight" claim that the film will incorporate the legend of King Arthur into its plot, and that the producers of the film are already in talks with an actor to play the role of King Arthur.
While some find the idea of incorporating medieval fantasy into the sci-fi film, most fans find it exciting. There are speculations that the concept was derived from the franchise's TV past, since the "Transformers" mythology already resembles the lore of King Arthur, as much as the Matrix of Leadership sharing similarities with the Holy Grail is concerned.
In the 1980's the animated series featured the Arthurian legend with its episode titled "A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court," in which the members of the Autobots and Decepticons met in a cave and came across characters from the legend of King Arthur.
While it has already been confirmed that the fifth "Transformers" movie will be shooting scenes set in the medieval times, it is still going to be primarily set in the present time. It also remains to be seen if "The Last Knight" will be entirely inspired by the episode from the 1980's animated series. Fans speculate that the film will be tied up with the Arthurian legend in such a way that it will feature a flashback showing how King Arthur and his court are linked to the robots in disguise.
Meanwhile, Liam Garrigan has been tapped to play the Once and Future King.
"Transformers: The Last Knight" is set to premiere on June 23, 2017.
