'Transformers: Devastation' News: Activision Releases New 'Transformers' Trailer
Leading up to this year's San Diego Comic Con, Activision released a new trailer for Transformers: Devastation, which was more gameplay and combat oriented.
The game is developed by Platinum Games, one of the leading names in action games, and the team on working on it includes people who previously worked on Bayonetta 2 and Legend of Korra.
The director of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Kenji Saito, is also supervising the development of the game. With this in mind, it seems likely that Transformers: Devastation will be a solid game.
Gamers who have seen the trailer are excited about the classic '80s anime cel-shading look that the game will feature, as well as the combat mechanics, which seem to be relatively good.
Although Platinum Games is a reliable action game developer, Activision studios are known for making games overly simple.
Users are also glad that the game is set completely in the Generation 1 era.
The previous games in the Transformers franchise, developed by High Moon, used all new designs, but this version will use the classic Diaclone and Microman mecha that made up the first Transformers.
Some issues that fans have found with the game include the fact that the vehicle modes can ram enemies mid air as a part of a combo, which looks little bit overly unrealistic.
However, the game is aimed at children, so a little suspension of disbelief is natural.
Based on the trailer, it also appears as though the game may be off functionally, but likely, users will be able to say more on this once they can get their hands on a copy.
Transformers: Devastation will be released in this October.
