'Transformers 5' Cast Rumors, News: New Installment to Commence Filming, Mark Wahlberg to Return?
Despite the mixed reviews, 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' turned out to be a major blockbuster earning over $1 billion from box office worldwide and now there are reports, encouraged by the film's success run, that Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures are planning to produce another sequel in the 'Transformers' franchise.
According to Christian Today, this news has left many wondering as to what new the producers have to offer to fans in the purported 'Transformers 5'. Even critics are of the view that in the absence of a good storyline for the film franchise, Paramount Pictures is also under pressure this time and this may eventually lead to declining popularity of the movie line.
Moreover, the 'Tranformers' franchise is faced with another challenge if finding a suitable substitute for director Michael Bay, who has want to leave the franchise with a view to pursue other things. In fact, Bay has been the director of all the four 'Transformer' movies so far and, hence, fans are asking if the franchise will continue to be a success without him.
Conversely, there are some who are wondering whether a new director will be able to give the necessary energy to the movie franchise. Apart from Mark Wahlberg, who has announced that he would not be reprising his character in 'Transformer 5', it is very likely that the cast of the upcoming movie will comprise several new faces and this might help to refresh the purported movie.
There are rumors that Megan Fox, who played the female lead in the first two 'Transformer' movies, will be returning to 'Transformers 5'. In fact, she has expressed her desire to do a cameo in the film, but this is reportedly somewhat unlikely.
Recently, Fox told E! News, "If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an Autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it."
Meanwhile, it is rumored that Jonathan Liebesman, who directed 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', may be the new director of the upcoming 'Transformers' movie. Screen Rant has stated that Liebesman would be the best person to replace Bay.
While the shooting for 'Transformers 5' is expected to commence soon, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters in summer of 2016.
