'Transformers 5' Release Date, Plot News: Fifth Movie Might Contain Two Storylines
The fifth movie of Transformers might come out summer of 2017. Up until now, we still don't have any information regarding its cast and crew. Usually, by the time the producers announce a new Transformers film, they would immediately give out information about this kind of stuff.
According to Christian Post, this could mean that the movie will only focus on robots this time. Transformers, at last, may actually be about... the Transformers; not human beings and planet earth.
Meanwhile, according to Movie Web, the voice of Jetfire in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Lockdown in Transformers: Age of Extinction," Mark Ryan, said that there will be two stories that will be told simultaneously within the movie. The first one will be Cade Yeager's (Mark Wahlberg) story. He will defend earth from Dinobots, while the other will be about Optimus Prime as he seeks for the Quintessons, the founders of their race.
Michael Bay will not return to direct the movie. According to Cinema Blend, the director of the previous Transformer movies wants to direct new stuff from now on.
"There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles," he said.
Though turning down the film as a director, Bay will still be involved in the franchise. He is named as the film's executive producer according to the International Movie Database.
There were also speculations that a mash up of Transformers and G.I. Joe could possibly happen. The two toy-based movies of Paramount could capitalize on a huge fan base. But according to producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the two movies still have a lot of stories left to tell before even considering a cross over.
