'Transformers 5' Movie News, Cast Rumors: Bruce Wills & Dwayne Johnson Considered for Lead Roles

Fans of the 'Transformers' movie franchise are wondering as to who will replace director Michael Bay, who left the franchise to direct other films. They are also speculating about the new cast of the fifth installment of the upcoming 'Transformers' movie, which is schedule to premiere on June 24, 2016.

According to Christian Today, there are rumors that Jonathan Liebesman, who earlier directed 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', is the first choice of the producers as the director of the upcoming movie. But if Liebesman directs 'Transformers 5', it is likely that he will not be directing the sequel to 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'.

Recently, Bay talked to Indiewire regarding the director who will replace him in 'Transformers 5'. According to Bay, "There's a lot that's unexplored, but that's for the next director to figure out. They're hard movies to do and it takes everyday for two years. They're fun, but they're hard."

As far as Bay is concerned, he says he is now keen to do something new. Talking to USA Today, he remarked, "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."

It is expected that with Bay leaving the franchise, 'Transformers 5' will have a new cast too. In fact, Mark Wahlberg had announced earlier that he would not prefer doing 'Transformers 5', as he is not interested in doing sequels, but only standalone films. A report by IBTimes says that now the producers are considering actors Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Wills for roles in 'Transformers 5'.

Meanwhile, as the producers have yet to make any announcements regarding the casting of 'Transformers 5', rumors doing the rounds say that the upcoming movie may not have any human characters at all! According to latest rumors, the fifth installment of the 'Transformers' franchise will only feature CGI characters and it be set in Cybertron, as it will focus on Optimus Prime's mission to locate his creator. As a result, the movie may only require humans as voice actors.
