'Transformers 5’ Cast News: Director Micheal Bay Despises 'Octopus' Transformer
Director Michael Bay isn't favored by critics, but "Armageddon," "Pearl Harbor," and the "Transformers" series were all box-office hits. So it's no surprise that "Transformers 5" is getting a familiar face off-cam. For one last time, Bay is directing "Transformers 5." Bay directed the first four "Transformers" movies.
"I'm doing Transformers ... 5, is it?" Bay tells Rolling Stones. "J.J. [Abrams] told me, 'You're the only guy that could do this.' But it's time to move on. One more."
Unfortunately, Bay also hinted that he will soon bid goodbye to the hit action movie series, "Transformers, I still have a great time. It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else."
Going back to the upcoming 2017 movie, rumors has it that Bay does not like one of the new Transformers introduced in the film.
The character in question is a sea creature described as "an underwater rendering of a crash-landed alien spaceship, then a new dump-truck Transformer with a cloak."
Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), who also did "Star Wars l" prequels, is already modifying the Transformer's appearance and has removed its tentacles. Nonetheless Bay says the creature can have his tentacles but "I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus."
Little more is known about the installment which is set to film this year, but Mark Wahlberg is confirmed to be back.
Looking ahead, Paramount is visualizing a "Transformers" universe with parts 6,7, and 8 in the charts, reports Cosmic Book News.
