Tracy Morgan Condition Latest Update News: Comedian Still Undergoing Therapy Months After Car Accident

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan is still in recovery for traumatic brain injury five months after the car accident that made headlines on June 7, 2014.

Five months later, Morgan is still undergoing physical, cognitive, and speech therapy treaments for traumatic brain injury.

In the accident, a Walmart truck hit the back of Morgan's limo van, which killed his fellow comedian James McNair and injured his three of his friends. Short after the crash, Morgan was rushed to the hospital due to a broken nose, legs and ribs.

However, the comedian went home on July 12 after hospital treatment and rehabilitation. Atty. Benedict Morelli, Morgan's lawyer revealed that the damage from the accident might be long term.

"When you have a traumatic brain injury, it takes a very long time to find out how you're going to do and how much you're going to recover. You just don't know. He's still fighting and trying to live his life at the same time and trying to get better, and he's just not better. We're hoping and praying to get him back to where he was. But the jury's out," Morelli said.

Morgan filed a lawsuit against Walmart requesting for due punishment and compensation from the retail corporation. Walmart responded that the victims were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident which contributed to their serious injuries.

Further investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board revealed that truck driver, Kevin Roper, was driving 65 mph, which is over the speed limit of 45 mph on the New Jersey Turnpike. Roper denied the claim and filed to have the lawsuit delayed. A hearing about his request is scheduled in the middle of December.

In addition, New Jersey State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams said that the truck driver might have been sleeping since he failed to notice the slow traffic and became aware of Morgan's vehicle the last minute before impact, according to Daily Mail UK.

Meanwhile, Morgan has a message for his fans: "I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all. I'm fighting hard every day to get back."
