'Toy Story 4' Spoilers, News: Franchise Installment will be 'Romantic Comedy' & 'Separate' from Original Trilogy

After the hit movie series 'Toy Story 3' became a worldwide box office hit, the new and upcoming film, 'Toy Story 4' will definitely have fans lining up to their nearest theaters especially when the studio's president recently announced that this film will be different than the previous three.

It has been reported that the fourth franchise of Toy Story will be a romantic comedy. "It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3," Jim Morris studio president told Disney Latino in an interview.

"Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie," he added.

Indeed, fans have been anxious in seeing what will happen in a new and separate Toy Story film according to Morris. "The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind."

John Lasseter, who directed the first two Toy Story films and now directing the fourth shared that the third franchise was supposed to be the last one until him and film's writers inspired him to do another one.

He said, "We don't want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what's gone before. Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz's story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when [writers] Andrew[Stanton], Pete [Docter], [editor] Lee [Unkrich] and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie-and I wanted to direct it myself."
