‘Toy Story 4’ Release Date, Spoilers, News: Disney & Pixar Confirm Film Franchise Installment

Disney has announced the upcoming release of 'Toy Story 4' and its collaboration with Pixar. Many fans are excited for the upcoming film, but some think that the movie series doesn't need a fourth installment.

The adventures of Woody and Buzz continues as Disney and Pixar join hand in hand in creating the fourth installment of the famous animated film 'Toy Story'.

Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement as he discussed Disney's fourth quarter and fiscal year results to investors. He also declared the comeback of John Lasseter to the director's seat for the upcoming movie.

"John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it's great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties," Iger said.

Actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will also reprise their characters as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Iger also announced that Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who appeared in the American romantic comedy film 'Celeste and Jesse Forever', have become writers for the project. Furthermore, Pixar vet Galyn Susman, who produced ABC's 'Toy Story of Terror!' and 'Toy Story that Time Forgot', will produce the animated film.

Accordingly, Lasseter also shared a few details about the plot of the upcoming film. He said that 'Toy Story 4' will present a love story and will continue from where the previous 'Toy Story' movie left off.

Despite the exciting news Disney and Pixar announced, some fans are reluctant about having a fourth 'Toy Story' film, BBC reported. Rhianna Dhillon of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra's film critic shared her doubts about the film.

"They should leave it alone," she said, "They wrapped it up perfectly at the end of the third one."

Thirty-four percent of people who responded in Perez Hilton's poll regarding the need for another 'Toy Story' voted that the movie was already great as a trilogy. The rest who took the survey are still excited for the fourth one.

The third 'Toy Story', which was released on 2010, became the highest-grossing animated film until the release of 'Frozen' on 2013. The movie also won two Oscars and best original song.

'Toy Story 4' will be due out in the theaters on June 16, 2017.
