BBC announced that Matt LeBlanc is going to host 'Top Gear' season 23.

Following the announcement of the official premiere date of "Top Gear" season 23, BBC recently confirmed that actor Matt LeBlanc of "Friends" is going to replace Jeremy Clarkson as the show presenter, along with Chris Evans.

On top of LeBlanc and Evans, The Stig, Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris, Eddie Jordan and Rory Reid are also set to host the widely acclaimed car show series.

Just a couple of weeks ago, LeBlanc was in Morocco to film for "Top Gear" season 23. On April 17, he was seen on a blue luxury convertible, driving through some zigzag lanes on Ring of Kerry. The actor was in a tizzy when he had to navigate down a slim road, pulling a face as he passed by a Hyundai.

While LeBlanc seemed excited about his new "Top Gear" hosting stint in Morocco, his co-host Evans was nowhere to be found. Rumors have it that the two were not on good terms, since Evans did not want LeBlanc to be part of the show.

However, some fans saw them together on April 16 in County Kerry, filming in the coastal town of Dingle.

Last summer, Chris Evans signed a three-year deal for "Top Gear."

"Top Gear" season 23 will premiere on BBC UK on May 23, as per BBC's announcement. The new season will feature the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Morocco and France, aside from Ireland.

The premiere date of the BBC car show falls three days after the last day of filming.

As for the format of the show, Evans teased that season 23 will totally be different from previous seasons.

"We are going to do things differently, because we have to, we want to," he said.
