Tom Cruise New Movie News: Actor Talks 'Top Gun 2'

Hit action film 'Top Gun' sequel is definitely really happening. Last year, the movie's producer Jerry Bruckheimer started talking about the possibility of the film coming to life, now, the star of the 1986 film himself, Tom Cruise talked about it and fans are just going nuts with excitement that there will be a sequel after decades.

Just last 2014, film producer Bruckheimer explained his vision for the sequel. "The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones," he told HuffPost Live. "Cruise is going to show them that they're not obsolete," he added. From then on, no one spoke of it until now that Cruise started talking again which makes the sequel even more confirmed to be true.

"It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets," Cruise told Reuters news wire in an interview at the premiere of his latest flick. "It would have to be practical. I don't want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one."

Indeed Cruise, with his age is still passionate in making the sequel as authentic as the first one. Although much more details are yet to be known either directly from the actor or from the movie executives.

Right now, Cruise is still busy promoting his latest flick Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation which will reportedly hit the theatres this July 31 and will surely excite the fans even more for the Top Gun 2 sequel as Cruise, even at 53 years old proves that he can still star in action-filled films.

Top Gun, which was shown in 1986 was directed by Tony Scott, and produced by Don Simpson and Bruckheimer. The film showed Cruise playing a fighter pilot. The sequel doesn't have a reported title as of the moment.
