Ubisoft has announced that it would be releasing the multiplayer-based shooting game 'Tom Clancy's The Division' for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on March 8 next year.

According to a report by Christian Today, Ubisoft had initially announced that work on the game was in progress and it would be available in 2014. However, laterm, the developers acknowledged that it would not be possible for them to release the game until 2015. According to some, even this date was too optimistic and eventually they were proved right, as the developer has now officially announced the release date to be in 2016.

An announcement on Ubisoft official website stated, "Working on 'The Division' is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don't want to compromise on quality."

It is reported that Ubisoft is positive that the upcoming game will be a hit, and the company has delayed its release on several occasion just to ensure this. In a statement to Digital Spy, Ubisoft said that it wanted additional time for the developers to "fully fulfil their creative vision", since they are confident about the prospective of having a grand game coming out.

In the beginning, it was also announced that the game will feature a companion app for tablet players. This app allows a person with a tablet help other players. According to IGN, for instance, the app enables a player to control a drone and support other console players.

The report in IGN also confirmed that the mobile companion app will be removed from 'The Division' because it led to a disparity that affected the overall gameplay.

Nevertheless, fans can now look forward to the official release in 2016. In addition, a beta version will be made in December 2015, providing the fans with an opportunity to try out the game before the release date. The beta version will first be available on Xbox One and subsequently released for PS4 and PS, IGN reported.
