'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Reboot Confirmed? Kaneki's Real Identity To Be Revealed
Another season of "Tokyo Ghoul" is coming this 2016, and fans are raving about it.
It has been confirmed that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be released in the latter part of the year, but details as to what this new season will be all about remain shrouded in secrecy. While some fans have a hunch that the upcoming series will be just a continuation of the previous season, there are still those who still hope for a reboot of the story.
Season 2 fell short in rousing the interest of viewers as it greatly diverged from its original plot in the manga series. Fans felt that the development of the story and characters was too hasty, hence the petition for a reboot.
According to reports, a reboot may work well in bridging the gap between the original "Tokyo Ghoul" and "Tokyo Ghoul: re" and their adaptations.
Some spoilers for the season suggest that it will be told in the perspective of Ghoul and Touka Kirishima, and that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will crack down on Kirishima's adventures. Most fans are down and out hearing the news, as the original anime series followed the life of Kaneki and not Kirishima.
To bridge the gap between the two characters, it will reportedly be revealed that Kirishima will be showcased as the training partner of Kaneki.
Spoilers also teased that the amnesiac Kaneki's real identity will be exposed, and that his memories will return during the Tsukiyama Extermination Operation as he continues to live under the identity of Haise Sasaki.
