'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date, Plot: Production Team Keeps Manga Storyline; Premieres In Summer

Anime lovers might be sent to the edge of their seats upon the rumors that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is about to be released this Summer.

Different online publications have speculated that FUNimation will hold the announcement on the said time, notes Cross Map. The reason for the delay is allegedly due to a Reboot which will be out first instead.

Additionally, the buzz about the storyline has been making rounds on the Internet as well. Citing Christian Daily, the source stated that the production team will stick to the manga storyline as per fans' demand.

According to the website, those who have read the Season 2 manga version of "Tokyo Ghoul" were disappointed that the TV series did not adapt the original storyline. Hence, it appears so that the production had learned from their opportunities on the previous season.

As for the reboot, the source also claimed that fans have created a petition for it to push through. However, the series has only 43 chapters as of October 2015 and fillers or to "deviate" the plot which means adding more scenes that can or might change the original storyline.

While FUNimation is yet to comment on the news, the site assumes that adding fillers could be necessary to obtain or manage the expected gaps that the Season 3 would have.  Hence, the same thing might happen to the third season.

Readers, manga enthusiasts and avid viewers of "Tokyo Ghoul" series might still need to wait for more conclusive information about the anime's release date and concrete storyline.
