'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date: Third Season Air Date Pushed Back To 2017?
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is coming soon and it is revealed that the series is set to air in televisions in 2017.
According to Cross Map, the primary reason behind FUNimation's delay in airing the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is the lack of source material. In the realm of anime series, the faithfulness of the anime iteration to the manga source dictates the level of satisfaction of fans and viewers, as well as the ratings of the show.
As per the publication, FUNimation may schedule to air "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 this year; however, the producer has to diverge the storyline from the the manga and create a new one instead. If this kind of story line happens, it is assumed that fans may be dismayed with the show, which may adversely affect its ratings.
In line with the story line for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, it is revealed that Touka Kirishima is the new lead in the series. As per Ecumenical News, the character, who has a pivotal role in the original manga, has been strongly set up as Ken's training partner in the anime series. However, it is assumed that the story is set to shift its gear with Kirishima as the lead, since Ken's story arc was not highly impressive for fans and viewers.
Production for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 has not yet started; thus, a 2017 release date is assumed to be more feasible and more logical in order to come up with a more solid and coherent story line.
Overall, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is set to air in 2017.
