Titi Branch Death News: Cause of Death an 'Apparent Suicide'

News broke about Titi Branch, of Miss Jessie's natural hair care line, as she was recently found dead in her apartment. It was reported that Branch's cause of death was "an apparent suicide due to asphyxia." The unfortunate event left behind family, friends, and thousands of grieving followers.

At only 45-years-old, Titi Branch had led an extraordinary life, and revolutionized extra curly hair for the masses. She had formulated Miss Jessie's signature Curly Pudding, one of the highest selling products at the Brooklyn hair salon, Curve. Titi was partnered with her sister, Miko Branch, when she launched Miss Jessie's in 2004, and later, the Curve hair salon.

The duo aimed to sponsor a host of hair care products for women with curly hair. Their products were permanent features of the natural hair movement, a movement dedicated to African-American women with lush, curly locks.

Even more than their products, the women of Miss Jessie's Products were role models and supporters of the natural hair community. Titi and Miko had over 38,000 followers on Twitter and fans throughout the nation.

Jenee Darden, a writer for CocoaFly, described Miss Jessie's product as "empowering black women" because it gave African-American women the confidence to show and take care of their hair the way it is naturally.

Furthermore, Titi and Miko had begun a movement among entrepreneurs - an emergence of young, African-American businesswomen who would create their own hair care products for taking care of naturally curly hair.

Although Titi Branch is no longer with us, her legacy lives on, survived by her sister and her strong grandmother, Jessie Branch. Our hearts and prayers go out to her and her family for this terrible loss.
