Tina Fey Back on T.V.? "Bossypants" Writer Teams Up with "30 Rock" Alum for New "Character Driven Workplace" Comedy / 'Mean Girls' Musical in the Works?
Is Tina Fey coming back to television? Please tell me it's not a Netflix show about politics [fingers crossed].
According to Deadline, NBC just bought the rights to a new project from one of Fey's 30 Rock pals Colleen McGuiness. According to the report, Fey will not star in the new series, instead opting for the executive producer hat alongside another 30 Rock collaborator Robert Carlock.
Deadline describes Fey's new series as a "character-driven workplace comedy where a young woman in search of reconnecting with her father finds a new home and family on Fire Island."
Fire Island is allegedly where Fey likes to vacation.
The new show will be produced by Fey's new production company, Little Stranger [Deadline].
Rumor has it Fey is also linked to another to another comedy project. If sources are true, Fey would join another former partner Matt Hubbard as executive producer. According to a story published by The Hollywood Reporter, this series is about an all-girls college that starts accepting male students. According to the same report, showrunners have not signed on with a network.
In the midst of two upcoming comedy shows, Fey is also busy putting together the 'Mean Girls' musical.
