In the latest Tim Tebow news, his former Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer recently broke his silence regarding why his former college player is still unemployed in the NFL.

"I still don't get that part of it," said Meyer to reporters at the Big Ten Media Day event on Tuesday, "He's the second-most efficient passer ever to play college football."

Under Meyer's guidance, Tebow had an impressive college football career, where "Tebowmania" was born, highlighted by winning the Heisman trophy in 2007 and two BCS National Championships in 2007 and in 2009.

The current Ohio State Buckeyes head coach further expressed his views regarding Tebow's potential success if the 26-year-old athlete returns to National Football League.

"He had really good personnel around him [at Florida] and we utilized his skill very well," said Meyer, "I think in a traditional setting, it is difficult, but there's a lot of non-traditional offenses now in the NFL."

The former New York Jets and Denver Broncos athlete was cut by the New England Patriots during the 2013 NFL preseason and did not find a new squad during the regular season.

If Tebow does not return to his dream job as a starting quarterback in the NFL, Meyer still has faith that the young Christian public figure will be alright in any situation that comes his way.

"He'll be successful in whatever he does, but he's such a good player," said Meyer, "I just wish it would work out for him."

In a recent interview, Tebow revealed he still wants to return the sport he loves, where played for three seasons.

"I feel great, I'm feeling the strongest, healthiest... throwing the best I ever have. So, I'm just really excited about the improvement," said Tebow to FOX10.

Tebow signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to work for the SEC Network, which will debut next month.
