'Thor: Ragnarok' Movie Plot Spoilers: Thor vs Thanos in an Epic Battle; Will Heimdall Kill Loki?
If a latest report by Cinema Blend is to be believed, Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, may be confronting Thanos in an epic battle in the upcoming third installment of the 'Thor' franchise titled 'Thor: Ragnarok.'
According to Christian Today, Thanos, referred to as the Mad Titan, was seen for the last time during the mid-credits scene of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' where he repossessed an Infinity Gauntlets. This Infinity Gauntlet has the ability to bestow unlimited powers on its bearer provided it has the entire Infinity Gems in it. Cinema Blend further stated that Thanos may possibly attack Asgard with a view to get the Tesseract, which is the abode of the Space Stone.
On the other hand, Thor returns to Asgard in order to acquire more information about the Infinity Stones. He, however, is unaware that his evil brother Loki is currently posing as their father Odin.
The report further states that Thanos might be accountable for destroying Asgard. If the upcoming movie follows the main storyline of Ragnarok in Norse mythology, it is likely that he will also be held responsible for introducing the villain Surtur. However, the producers are yet to confirm if Surtur will feature in 'Thor: Ragnarok,' fans are speculating that he is the probable antagonist in the film, apart from Thanos.
Cinema Blend claimed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige earlier said that 'Thor: Ragnarok' is among the most important films in phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it will have an effect all of the other films that are moving forward. Hence, it is likely that the destruction of Asgard would mark the arrival of Thanos, the villain which will be highlighted in 'Avengers: Infinity War' parts 1 and 2.
Meanwhile, Yibada reported that the audience may see Loki die in 'Thor: Ragnarok.' In the Ragnarok in Norse mythology, Loki is killed by Heimdall. While this may take place in the upcoming film, chances are that instead of being killed by Heimdall, Loki's life will be taken by Thanos, thereby completing the story arc between Thor and Loki's brotherly rivalry that began in the first 'Thor' film.
'Thor: Ragnarok' will premiere on Nov. 3, 2017.
