'Thor: Ragnarok' News: Movie Plot Centers Hemsworth's Comedic Ability

Chris Hemsworth will make viewers chuckle off their feet in "Thor: Ragnarok."

Just recently, the actor showcased his ability to make people laugh when he hosted "Saturday Night Live." According to film director Taika Waititi, "Thor: Ragnarok" will take advantage of the comedic ability of Chris Hemsowrth to add some sense of pleasantry to the film.

"It's silly not to use that. He's so good," he said.

While the film will make use of Hemsworth's slapstick, Waiti noted that the focus of the plot will still be the character of Thor. He revealed the that the movie will be more about digging deeper into his real character than using him for mere jesting.

"As much as I love action and spectacle, I think my strength and what I'm really interested in mostly is character. It's a hard balance, because you've still got to blow shit up," said Waiti.

Waiti also shared his thoughts on the need for female characters in the superhero film. He then disclosed that the upcoming film is going to cast a new female villain.

"Everyone's aware of the need and also the need for female characters. But female representation is something I feel is even still behind in the conversation about representation. It's something that's equally important to my mind. So it's great having female heroes," he said.

"This film has Marvel's first female villain, and that's exciting for me. I want to see more females onscreen and not just dudes. There's nothing wrong with that," he added.

"Thor: Ragnarok" opens on November 3, 2017.
