‘The X-Files’ New Teaser News: Mulder and Scully Shown Together After a Decade [VIDEO]

'The X-Files' reboot mini-series has released a new teaser with a caution saying "Viewer Discretion Advised." While the video clip runs for a few seconds only, it is very revealing for devoted fans of the sci-fi horror drama television series who have been watching the show faithfully since its inception in the early '90s.

Quoting a recent report in Deadline, Latin Post reports that the new series will premiere next year on Jan. 24, immediately after the NFC championship game on FOX. 'The X-Files' will subsequently turn around the same next night and telecast another episode in its usual Monday time slot of 9 p.m. EST.

The video clip shows Agent Mulder (David Duchovny) asking Dana Scully, the character portrayed by Gillian Anderson, "Are you ready for this Scully?"

The teaser opens on what seemed to be some sort of devastating situation and promptly cuts to the main characters of the show who were not been seen together on the series in over a decade now, except for a movie released in 2008.

According to reports, the upcoming series will directly entertain the fans of the original show and bring back nearly all of its greatest characters. As of now, Duchovny and Anderson, in addition to William B. Davis (The Smoking Man) and Mitch Pileggi (Agent Skinner) are expected to return to the show.

In addition, the series will also resurrect The Lone Gunmen, most probably in the storyline that they faked their own deaths. In fact, the conspiracy theorists have been an important asset to Mulder and Scully in the original series and even provided the show with some much-needed comical relief.

The teaser was aired during the season finale of another sci-fi hit drama thriller on FOX - Wayward Pines.

Deadline further reported that the series will be a six-episode event for the network. At this point, the network has not confirmed the reboot for anything beyond this limited run.
