'The Witness' Xbox One: Game Remains Parallel With Its PS4 And PC Counterparts
In line with Thekla Inc. and Jonathan Blow's "The Witness," the title is set to land on the Xbox One.
The title is set to be released on Sept. 13, IGN has learned. As per the publication, the game is set to have no difference from its PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows versions, which came out in January.
In his interview with the publication, game creator Jonathan Blow said that there were some technical differences, but it was basically the same game. He added that he felt like that would kind of mess up the game. The creator also suggested that the title had no release date yet, as improvements had to be done on graphics and movement, among others.
"It's such a lower-end platform and we have to redo a ton of stuff," Blow said.
While the game's Xbox One version is set to be at par with its PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows counterparts, it is assumed that the iOS version is set to present some changes and these are being worked on by Thelka Inc, as per Polygon. According to the publication, the port will utilize similar first-person puzzle-solving premise, with tap-based navigation and less dynamic graphics.
"The Witness" is Thekla Inc. and Jonathan Blow's 3D puzzle video game. Set in an open world, the title is inspired by Cyan and Broderbund's graphic adventure puzzle game "Myst." In the game, fans are set to encounter natural and artificial structures and the player advances through puzzle solving, which involves mazes, visual cues, and audio recordings.
Thekla Inc. and Jonathan Blow's "The Witness" was initially released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and iOS on Jan. 26.
