'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Expansion News: Two Content Additions to be Released for New Game

Developers of the popular game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, have announced two new story-driven expansions for the upcoming title.

Due to the size and scope of the new elements, they will come at a cost to gamers, but CD Projekt Red states that they will represent "real value for money".

The first expansion, called Hearts of Stone, is a more than ten hour long adventure, which goes into "the wilds of No Man's Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where [Geralt will] try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass," says IGN.

The second expansion, which will be called Blood and Wine will give players a tale that is longer than twenty hours and will feature a brand new region called Toussaint.

According to CD Projekt Red, the land will be "untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.

Hearts of Stone will be sold for $9.99, whereas Blood and Wine will cost $19.99.

Players can also buy the expansion packs with both for $24.99, and new game players can purchase a bundle that contains the game along with both expansions, which will be $84.99 for Xbox One and PS4 players, and $79.99 for PC.

According to Marcin Iwinski, CD Projekt Red co-founder, "the new area of Toussaint will look extremely cheerful and normal, perhaps even too normal during the day. However, there will be a big secret there."

Hearts of Stone is due to be released this October, and Blood and Wine will be released during the first quarter of 2016. Both of the expansions will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
