'The Winds of Winter' Rumors Update: Release Date in 2016?
George R.R. Martin, the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire," (more famous for its hit TV series, "Game of Thrones") has been taking a lot of time lately in order to finish the sixth installment in his series, entitled, 'The Winds of Winter.'
According to Yibada, rumors suggest that the renowned author has finished writing the book. A lot of fans thought that the 67-year-old author was giving a hint on his personal blog.
It was reported that the author admitted at a talk at Northwestern University that even though he has been taking a lot of time in finishing the latest book, he would not imagine HBO's "Game of Thrones" series to catch up on his writings.
The writer also disclosed that he has no intentions of giving other authors rights in continuing his works. He was asked on his livejournal if he would consider Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck to write stories for "A Song of Ice and Fire."
Martin immediately said no. He also added that he "doesn't see anyone else ever continuing" his works long after he's done with writing.
Martins' last book, "A Dance with Dragons," came out in 2011. He was able to do the first three books of "A Song of Ice and Fire" in a span of four years (1996-2000).
It is now almost five years since his last published book. Will he be making any adjustments knowing that the TV series has caught up with his works?
'The Winds of Winter' is rumored to be published with a release date in April of 2016, according to foodworldnews.com.
