Many have anticipated the newest volume of George R.R. Martin's mystical series "A Song of Ice and Fire" to be released together with the premiere of the sixth season of the television franchise. Although these rumors have been proven to be false as the latest season of "Game of Thrones" has been airing for more than two weeks now, little birds have been spreading that this month may be our lucky month!

Despite his silence on the volume's apparent delay, the author expressed his intention to finish the book as soon as possible. However, he also warns his avid readers that more than filling in the pages, rewriting and editing the novel also take up as much time. Martin mentioned that he had cancelled meetings and travels in order to speed up the stitching of the story. The author seems confident that his intention will translate into reality.

Meanwhile, it seems like the novel was intended to disjoint from its television version, which focuses on Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). The novel will instead highlight two different heroes - Stannis Baratheon and Tyrion Lannister.  If we are to recall what happened in the television series, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) was left in the woods to die, right after the Lannister's troops defeated his. In the novel, Baratheon can be expected to live.

Since none of the rumors has been confirmed yet, fans of the series will have to patiently wait and see if the novel will certainly come to life this May.
