'The Winds of Winter' Release Date News: George R.R. Martin Urges Publishers to Not to Schedule New Book

The latest book in the series of "A Song of Ice and Fire', "The Winds of Winter', has yet to be completed, according to a blog post by its author George R. R. Martin.

Martin said in his blog that he hopes that none of his publishers have scheduled "The Winds of Winter.'

"I certainly hope that THE WINDS OF WINTER is not on the schedule of ANY of my publishers. I have spent years trying to persuade them all not to schedule my books until they are completed and delivered. Scheduling, and then having to reschedule and postpone, just [ticks] people off. I'd rather not schedule at all until the date is real and certain. This flies against the standard publishing practice, however, so it's a battle that I do not always win," he wrote through his account via Live Journal, according to Wall Street Journal.

"I have no information on likely delivery. Fans really ought to appreciate that the length of these monsters is equivalent to two or three novels by other writers," he said, according to The Gaurdian.

In other news, a letter posted by the publishers Harper Collins on its Twitter account, is said to reveal the plot and major events of the book. According to Watchers On The Wall, HarperCollins UK Twitter account posted a few images of a letter that was reportedly written by the author George R. R. Martin.

The letters reveal major spoilers. According to the letters, "A Song of Ice and Fire' is really a story about the younger generation in the books. The five characters that the author initially intended to survive in "Winds of Winter' are Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Bran Stark and Jon Snow.
