'The Walking Dead' Spoilers, Recap: Writers Write Off One of the Major Characters in the Series

'The Walking Dead' fans are most likely still coping with the loss of one of he main survivors from Rick's group. While the writers of the series have decided to go that route with the show, fans are now anxious as ever to find out what happens next.

On that note, the premiere episode marked the death of popular character, Tyreese.

"In the opening minutes of Sunday's episode, the survivors bury their fallen comrade, before new addition Noah (Tyler James Williams) tells Rick (Andrew Lincoln) about the plans he and Beth made before her death, to return to a sanctuary outside Richmond, Virginia - giving the group a new purpose after discovering that there is no cure waiting for them in Washington, D.C.," writes Variety.

Stepping back to before the premiere, the last episode left fans on a big cliffhanger, as there was no clue to where they proposed to go next.

"In the 'Walking Dead' comics, the survivors also go to Virginia, but Eugene's big reveal that he doesn't know the cure for the zombie virus put that in question. Now, like 'Walking Dead' star Josh McDermitt recently told HuffPost Entertainment, it appears things are 'getting back to a version of some stories from the comic'," writes Huffington Post.

McDermitt also mentioned that the series will take a darker tone, if that was perhaps even possible. The show already takes a pretty solemn tone as it is with the frequent deaths of major characters.

The next episode of 'The Walking Dead' airs on Sunday, February 14, via AMC.
