'The Walking Dead' Season 7 News, Spoilers: Filming Date Set; New Major Comic Book Character Unveiled?

Following "The Walking Dead" season 6, it is inevitable to dig up for details about the show's upcoming season 7. With the filming date, some talks on a new major comic book character - King Ezekiel - have also surfaced.

According to "The Walking Dead" fan page The Spoiling Dead Fans, season 7 is set to commence on May 2 and is going to run on May 5. As per the page, the filming destinations include Old Highway 3, Brown Drive, Old Griffin Road, and Atlanta area, among others. It is also revealed that shooting will take places between 5:00 a.m. and 10 p.m.

As per the report, the Atlanta Motor Speedway will cradle a base camp and the overpass in the locale is a pivotal area, since it was where Negan set up the "hanging roadblock" in the series' finale. With regard to Negan, the premiere episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 is pivotal to the storyline, as it reveals the new villain terminated in season 2 episode 16.

In other news, a casting call for King Ezekiel is currently being held, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry. As per the publication, AMC puts out a call for a character coded "Augustus." The actor is going to be a 40-year-old African-American male, who is described as flamboyant and nice. In the comics, he is known to be the leader of a group of survivors called the "Kingdom."

Based from the casting call description, the character looks like a ruler of an empire. Actors who could play the role include Alessandro Juliani, Common, Michael Jai White, Yasiin Bey, Omari Hardwick, Rockmond Dunbar, and Rick Fox, among others.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 is expected to air in October.
