‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers, Rumors: Survivors to Confront New Challenges [VIDEO]

When the horror television drama series 'The Walking Dead' returns to AMC for its sixth season this fall, things will certainly not be anything easier for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew of survivors.

According to a report in IB Times, fan of the AMC zombie series are aware that it is not an easy feat to remain alive in the zombie apocalypse. Trouble lies in wait in every form from walkers to dangerous humans, and behind every corner. Although at the end of Season 5 fans saw the survivors safely behind the walls of Alexandria, it does not mean that they will not face new challenges in the upcoming Season 6.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actress Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie Greene on 'The Walking Dead,' disclosed that the survivor group will be confronting numerous difficulties while trying to return to civilization while from Alexandria.

Talking about the upcoming season, Cohan said, "It's about being really challenged," adding, "So we'll see a ton of challenges and we'll see people the audience as been introduced to as very stable reliable characters crumbling, and I think it's going to be pretty scary."

In early July, 'The Walking Dead' fans were treated to some of the Season 6 fallout in the Comic-Con trailer. In the video clip, fans can see Rick making a speech about keeping Alexandria safe and preparing the residents for the threats beyond the wall. On the other hand, everyone does not seem to agree with the former sheriff or his stratagem. Considering what is shown in the trailer, it doesn't appear that Rick can ensure everyone's safety. A couple of scenes show the humans being attacked by walkers, while another scene shows Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) carrying a body for burial.

In the meantime, fans simply cannot forget that the "Wolves," a group of dangerous humans, are still at large. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the villains would return in Season 6, causing more problems for the survivors, who are already tense.

Last week, Steven Yeun, who portrays Glenn, told Entertainment Weekly that 'The Walking Dead' Season 6 will certainly deal with some "deeply emotional" storylines, while delivering the "crazy a-s-t" that fans are familiar with.

'The Walking Dead' Season 6 will premiere on AMC on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 9 p.m. EDT.
