'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers, News: Noah Killed Off in Upcoming Episode? [TRAILER VIDEO]

Actor Tyler Williams joined 'The Walking Dead' cast only recently in Season 5 of the show, but has already signed on for another role in a different TV series. Since handling two roles in different recurring shows is extremely difficult, William's recent move has given rise to speculations that his character Noah in the AMC zombie drama will be killed off soon.

IB Times says that that the former lead actor in 'Everybody Hates Chris' has recently signed on to co-star opposite Gary Sinise in the forthcoming 'Criminal Minds' spinoff on CBS.

According to the report, Williams will portray the character of Monty in the spin-off, which will is scheduled to be aired during 'Criminal Minds' Episode 19 this spring. The character of Monty has been described as a compassionate tech analyst for the team - an arm of the FBI seeking to help American citizens who are in trouble overseas. Monty will reside in the U.S. and coordinate with the families of people whom this new team is seeking to help.

This seems to be a very meaty role for an actor who is just returning in the second half of 'The Walking Dead' Season 5. For the uninitiated, Noah joined the FBI group subsequent to trying to help Beth (Emily Kinney) escape Grady Memorial Hospital. While they did not succeed in saving Beth, Noah was last seen traveling with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the remaining survivors.

While it is quite impossible to forecast whether or not the show runners will kill off Williams' character, his character actually doesn't exist in Robert Kirkman's 'The Walking Dead' graphic novels. On the other hand, the character of Noah does have some similarities to Noah Cruz from the official 'Walking Dead' video game, wherein Daryl Dixon is played by Norman Reedus.

There is some similarity between the storylines of 'The Walking Dead' and the video game 'Survival Instinct.' In the video game, Daryl encounters Noah Cruz for the first time in a hospital, quite similar to the manner in which Williams' character was introduced on 'The Walking Dead.' In the game, the player can either save Cruz or get medical supplies, and subject to what the player chooses, Noah's fate is somewhat different.

The game's guide says that Noah Cruz can later try to "sick a pack of Walkers on Daryl," something akin to the hallway scene in 'The Walking Dead' Season 5 where Noah robs Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride) and cuts Walkers out of a tent to with a view to cover his escape. Irrespective of what the player opts, Noah's fate is either death or disappearance. This will certainly not bear well for Williams to continue in 'The Walking Dead.' While, Noah's character is not based on the video game character, one cannot ignore the similarities.

As of now, fans of the zombie drama will need to wait until the mid-season premiere of 'The Walking Dead' on Feb. 8 to know about young Noah's fate.
