'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: Father Gabriel's Internal Conflict, Tyreese's Risky Plan

The last time fans saw Rick's group of survivors on 'The Walking Dead', they were in the church and getting ready to head out on a rescue mission. Daryl makes a barricade out of the pipe organ and the others are boarding up the windows, as they start their trip back to Atlanta while they leave Carl, Michonne, and Father Gabriel at the church to watch Judith.

Meanwhile, we see Maggie and Glenn with Eugene and Abraham. Glenn finds that they are running really low on water and suggest to Maggie that they go back to the church. Maggie knows that moving Eugene will only make his condition worse.

Rick is trying to figure out a way to get Beth and Carol out of the hospital. Tyreese says that they should just capture a few cops and do an even trade for Beth and Carol. Daryl and Rick are unsure of the right plan of attack, but decide to give Tyreese's plan a chance.

Meanwhile back at the church, Michonne tries to talk to Father Gabriel about walkers and about how she knows this whole life is very new to him. She tries to help him to understand what is happening. After she leaves, he decides to pry one of the floorboards up and he ends up falling down into a hole underneath the church. He then realizes that he is outside of the church. He runs out into the woods. He then gets attacked by a walker who he notices is wearing a cross around his neck. This is where we see the internal struggle that Father Gabriel has with the walker and his faith.
