'The Walking Dead' News: Norman Reedus Speaks On Season 6
From the show's season 5 finale, it's quite apparent that the upcoming return of 'The Walking Dead' will make a pretty heavy switch in tone.
Opposed from discovering and trying to adapt to the new Alexandria sanctuary, the survivors will be faced with not only convincing the others that they must ready themselves, but with combating a number of new threats.
Actor Norman Reedus recently offered a few words to EW on what kind of season this will be and how it will differ from previous.
"Season 6 is much different than the previous seasons," says Reedus. "It's kind of our group being okay with stability and fighting stability and figuring out if we can actually live with other people."
Adapting to the new civilization has proved difficult for the characters so far, most notably Reedus' Daryl.
"You've taken a bunch of wild animals and put them in a domestic environment, and some of them prefer to be wild animals, and some of them can't figure out how to be anything other than that," he adds. "So we've come to a place where we can live with the public or live in a community and us having inner turmoil with trying to discover if that's possible at all."
Season 6 will also mark the character Morgan to return as a season regular, and based how things were left last season he'll add an interesting dynamic.
"And more importantly, right after he pulled the trigger, Morgan was there and they're face-to-face," showrunner Scott M. Gimple tells EW. "What have we heard from Morgan? What have we seen from him? He said, "All life is precious," and the first thing he sees Rick do is shoot a man in the face. So right there, the facts point towards a bit of conflict there, a bit of an issue. And will the Alexandrians after that gunshot be completely down with what Rick was saying just a few moments before? Bit of a question mark there."
'The Walking Dead' returns October 11.
