'The Walking Dead' News: New Trailer Released For Season 6 [VIDEO]

The trailer to the highly anticipated sixth season of 'The Walking Dead' was released at Comic-Con, introducing some new dynamics for the group of survivors.

The footage shown mixed scenes from the last season and the upcoming one, however the internal power struggle between the survivors and the citizens of Alexandria still seems to be an overarching theme this season.

Those that saw the fifth season finale also witnessed the reintroduction of the Morgan character. He has now been confirmed as a series regular for the upcoming season. His whereabouts and history since the last time viewers saw him is still undisclosed.

"He was painting. Getting to know himself," Morgan actor Lennie James jokes in a panel. "We may find [the answer to that question] out this season. One of the things he was doing was trying to find Rick. And now it appears he wishes he hadn't."

"The 13-person panel, hosted by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, went on to detail what's in store on Oct. 11. Noticeably absent was co-creator Robert Kirkman, who was sick, but there in spirit as producers brought paddles with cut-outs of his bearded face, holding them up whenever he was mentioned," writes EW.

New characters for the season have also been announced, most notably are Corey Hawkins, 'Grace and Frankie' actor Ethan Embry, and 'Nurse Jackie' actress Merritt Wever. Wever is confirmed to play a character from the comics.

The season premiere of 'The Walking Dead' plans to air on October 11, as a 90 minute special on AMC.
