'The View' Cast News: Rosie Perez Leaves Daytime Talk Show After One Season

The View is saying goodbye to another one of its Rosies. After Rosie O'Donnell left the live television talk show in February, Rosie Perez will be departing.

Bill Wolff, the executive produce of the show announced the news in an email to staff earlier this week, stating the Perez will be leaving her spot as a co host in order to pursue her passion for acting.

It has been a short time with Perez co hosting the show, as she only joined in September, but she has decided that it is time for her to move on.

"Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show at the conclusion of this season to pursue full time her love for acting," wrote Wolff in an internal email to The View employees. "Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive. And beyond being an enormously talented performer, Rosie is a dedicated advocate who has brought passion and insight to the panel every day."

There had been speculation building that Perez would be leaving the talk show, when she took a break in January 2015 to appear on Broadway.

However, at the time, O'Donnell shut down the rumors of Perez's departure.

"Rosie will always be a part of The View family, and we will welcome her back as a guest anytime to catch up," continued the email. "We'll plan a proper send off for her in a few weeks, but in the meantime, please join me in thanking her for her great work on the show."

Perez's last show will air on August 6th, and there is no word on a future co host at this time.
