'The View' Cast News: Actress Rosie O'Donnell Leaves ABC Talk Show

Rosie O'Donnell has recently announced her departure from the ABC show, 'The View' for the second time since 2007.

It has been reported that O'Donnell has recently split up from her wife, Michelle Rounds and will need the extra time to focus on her family.

"Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention," her publicist states, "This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first."

ABC agreed to let the host go after only returning for five months and signing an 11-month contract estimated to be worth five million dollars. The network has also come forward and spoke on their thoughts on O'Donnell's decision.

"Rosie is an immensely talented star who comes in each and every morning brimming with ideas, excitement and passion for the show," ABC execs said.

"When she told us that she wanted to exit 'The View', we respected and understood her desire to put her well-being and her family first. We're delighted she's still part of the ABC family with upcoming guest appearances on 'The Fosters'. And we know she'll return to 'The View' often with her unique point of view and updates on her work and her family."

Admittedly, family problems weren't the only reason O'Donnell decided to break away from the show.

"O'Donnell, who has a reputation as a demanding and sometimes abrasive boss, didn't feel like her strengths were being properly used by ABC, according to those close to the 52-year-old comedian. Compounding the problem were tensions with co-host Whoopi Goldberg and behind-the-scenes executive turmoil at "The View," which recently shifted to management under ABC News," writes Variety.

Along with Whoopi Goldberg, O'Donnell hosted beside Rosie Perez and Nicole Wallace.

There has been no word on who will be filling in for O'Donnell.
