If the recently released trailer of the upcoming season of 'The Vampire Diaries' is any indication, Season 7 is set to bring blood, romance and vengeance and all these will result in the plunging of Mystic Fall into evil-filled darkness, while Lily and her heretic family seize the town. In fact, the first promo of the supernatural drama television series on ABC hints that the city has already delved into complete bedlam.

According to IB Times, Lily brings her 'bloodthirsty family' to the Salvatore mansion and this irks Damon, who questions his mother's actions. "Are you gonna tell me who the hell you are bringing to our house," Salvatore asks his mother.

However, it seems that Damon's younger brother Stefan will be successful in convincing him that the vampires and the heretics are able to still stay together as he has struck a pact with them."We don't mess with them, they don't mess with us," Stefan tells his brother who answers him, who responds saying "bad idea."

The trailer also hints that that the vampire brothers may be in grave danger as Lily offers them 'motherly advice' over phone to run. Since the opening episode of 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6, the vampire mother was seen to be showing her immense love for the heretics whom she calls her family. Earlier, the producers of the show had suggested that Lily would try to create differences between her sons.

In the meantime, Caroline discards the supposed truce deal with the blood-thirsty lunatics and persuades Stefan to fight back. "Are we making a huge mistake handing over our town for a bunch of supernatural terrorists?" she asks him. In response, the younger Salvatore brother answers, "Yeah, probably."

Talking to TV Guide, show producer Caroline Dries said, "There's constantly life and death stakes thrown at them, they're thrust together in a storyline," adding, "So as much as much as there's chaos around her, every time she looks at Stefan, she gets butterflies." She added that there may be "massacres here [and] bombs there," but "it's only a matter of time before it's like... 'You make me happy.' So, we'll see them get together soon."

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 premieres on Oct. 8 on The CW network.
