After a successful season 6, The Vampire Diaries is set to open up with its 7^th season soon. The latest trailer reveals that residents of Mystic Falls will face new dangers as new vampire witches are coming in.

According to Inquisitr, the opening episode will have the title "Day One of Twenty-Two Thousand, Give or Take."

Spoiler TV's set of photos show that Caroline will meet new vampires in Mystic Falls and the encounter will make her fall under a painful spell.

The teaser photos released on Thursday also gives the fans a hint of the cast of the new villains in the season 7 of The Vampire Diaries.

In the ending of season 6, Lily and her family arrived at Mystics Falls only to stir up trouble in the town.

Christian Today reports that in the seventh season, Stefan and Damon will strike a deal with their mother and her clan.

The brothers will agree to give Mystic Falls to their mother and drive the humans out. Lily will use the town as venue for training her children to blend in with humans, but they will not like the training.

In the finale of season 6, Mystic Falls was left in ruins while Damon looked on. Basing on the trailer of the new season released last Friday, Caroline will also run into a lot of challenges thinking that it is a huge mistake giving the town to the newcomers. But since the deal has already been sealed, Stefan tells Damon that it is too late.

The repost says, Bonnie is still alive, and she will also have her own problems in this new season. Her best friend is just asleep, but she will experience survivor's remorse.

She will vow to fight the evil forces accompanying Damon and Alaric as they also grieve their own losses. The new season will air on October 8 on the CW.
