When the supernatural television drama series, 'The Vampire Diaries' returns for its seventh season on The CW, fans will see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) accommodating themselves to a new life in Mystic Falls. While Damon will be trying to get going in life without his beloved Elea beside him, Stefan will be seen trying to charm Caroline.

However, IB Times reports that the presence of their mother Lily Salvatore will bring more trouble than what the brothers had expected.

In 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 finale, viewers saw Lily Salvatore getting back together with the heretics, her travelling companions, and this is likely to cause plenty of hostility between Lily and her sons. In fact, she will even exile Damon from Mystic Falls at one point, and Season 7 will see Lily occupying the Salvatore mansion, forcing the brothers to seek shelter at Tyler's house.

Buddy TV qoutes 'The Vampire Diaries' executive producer Julie Plec saying, "It teaches them a lot about their relationship with each other, their relationship they always wanted with her, and then it puts them in a situation of, are they going to make amends with this woman or are they going to take her down?"

Meanwhile, fans of 'The Vampire Diaries' are now keen to see how 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 will be unfolding, especially because Nina Dobrev has already quit the show for good. Throughout the previous seasons of the vampire drama, Elena (Nina Dobrev) has been the voice of reason for Damon. In the upcoming season, Elena's place will be taken over by Bonnie (Kat Graham).

Talking about Damon and Bonnie, the executive producer said, "They really, really found a deep friendship with each other, which is surprising, considering how little respect they had for each other leading up to that situation." Plec added, "Now, they still have that, but there's this underlying resentment on both sides."

Meanwhile, Bonnie will be guilty that Elena sacrificed her life to give her a full life. While Damon also chose to save Bonnie when he had a chance to let her die, he will not let any opportunity go waste to remind Bonnie of his big deed.

According to Plec, if Damon and Bonnie want to save their relationship, they would need to work out their issues.
