'The Strain' News Update: K.C. Collins Joins Cast of Upcoming Season 4

Actor K.C. Collins of "Robocop" has landed a role in the fourth and final season of "The Strain."

Collins is set to portray a character named Roman, who helps the main characters in their fight for survival. According to reports, the actor will appear in multiple episodes of the upcoming season of the FX vampire drama thriller.

Collins' previously appeared in HBO's "Magadishu, Minnesota."

The upcoming season will see the survival of humanity at stake. Set in New York City, the new series will follow the citizens, now on their own, in the ultimate showdown between humans and strigoi.

The third season of "The Strain" wrapped up on October 30. The season finale saw Dr. Ephraim Goodweather's son Zack become angry at his father for killing his strigoi mother to defend himself. This triggered the explosion of a nuclear bomb that wreaked havoc in New York City.

With the conclusion of season 3, fans are now excited to witness the downfall of Eldritch Palmer, a.k.a. The Master, and Zack, considering the number of lives they claimed in the previous season. In the season 3 finale, The Master was able to escape through the help of Zack.

According to Kevin Durand, who plays former rat exterminator Vasiliy Fet in the series, the new season starts shooting soon. This was confirmed by actress Octavia Spencer, who tweeted to Durand, "I'm ready to kill Zack and I love kids. OMG he sided with strigoi. Next season must begin NOW."

"The Strain" season 4 will wrap up the stories of Fet, Dutch, Eph, Setrakian, The Master, Gus and Thomas. It is expected to premiere sometime in 2017 on FX.
