'The Originals' Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers, Cast: Summer Fontana To Play Grown-Up Hope

Child actress Summer Fontana will play the role of grown-up Hope in "The Originals" season 4.

The announcement was made at the recently-concluded San Diego Comic-Con 2016, where the five-year time jump between seasons 3 and 4 was also announced.

According to reports, Summer Fontana already began filming for the upcoming season early this week.

Summer Fontana is best known for her role in "Basic Witches."

At the Comic-Con, "The Originals" gave some hints on what to expect from the five-year-old Hope. It can be recalled that the little baby Hope already exhibited some strong magical powers, so it will be very interesting to know how powerful her older version gets when the series returns.

There are speculations that Hope is the key to finding the cure to her Aunts and Uncles.

The season 3 finale saw Hope on the road with her mother as they tried to find a means to save the Miikaelsons. According to Phoebe Tonkin, a lot of Klaus can be found in the grown-up version of Hope. In her interview with TV Line, Tonkin said, "I'm excited to see what kind of personality this little girl has."

"Even though she hasn't been around her dad for the last five years, I think there's a lot of Klaus in her, good or bad, and I'm excited to see that in this little powerful witch," she added.

Fans can only hope that she takes after the good side of Klaus, not the bad.

"The Originals" season 4 is set to be released on The CW sometime in 2017.
