Viewers of both "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" are now what is bound to happen between Klaus and Caroline. Fans who are hopeful for a fruitful relationship between the two might be disappointed about the news that has been published recently. Catch some of the Season 3 spoilers below.

According to Carter Matt, there is a limited number of crossover between the acclaimed shows so the relationship might not pursue. There are different writers and actors on both of the TV series so it will be hard for them to transpire the blossoming love affair every now and then.

"The Originals" executive producer confirmed the news on TV Line.

"I don't want to speak for what they're doing on [The Vampire Diaries], but it certainly seemed like Klaus was saying to Caroline that he would always care for her and respect her, but that he understood she had moved on ... I know there are fans that want that relationship to continue, so I'm sure there are people who will read this and howl and be angry; I can't fault them for their passion." 

Despite the clarity, Carter Matt stated that the possibilities are still endless. There might be a chance that Klaus and Caroline might be together but not in the near future as the story continues to focus on Candice's pregnancy. Besides, Klaus still has to deal with other issues in New Orleans and he still has Cami.

"The Originals" airs on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET while "The Vampire Diaries" airs on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
