Christmas seemed to have already arrived on the sets of 'The Originals'. The CW has recently announced that it will air the Christmas-themed episode of 'The Originals' Season 2 when the show returns from a brief break on Tuesday, Dec. 8. The upcoming episode, which is also the mid-season finale, has been titled "The Map of Moments."

In Season 2 Episode 8 of 'The Originals', which starred Auntie Rebekah (Clarie Holt) and baby Hope, viewers saw Klaus (Joseph Morgan) getting into the Christmas mood when he asks his sister Rebekah to meet him at the place where they celebrated a festive holiday earlier.

According to 'The Originals' Season 2 spoilers by IBTimes, the motive behind Klaus directing his sister for a meeting the safe house is that both Esther (Sonja Sohn) as well as Elijah (Daniel Gillies) have other intentions than the safety of Hope.

The official synopsis for the Episode 9 "The Map of Moments" reads, "When Rebekah notices an unusual change in Elijah's behavior, and she asks Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to meet her, reuniting them with baby Hope." However, the family's holiday reunion will be very brief as Rebekah, Klaus and Hayley will require work out a plan to protect Elijah from their mother's spell, and this is only possible by taking Esther out.

Viewers are likely to see the three encounter problems, as Esther enters into a very dubious and deadly alliance. The promo clip of 'The Originals' Season 2 Episode 9 shows Esther asking for Mikael's help to transform their outrageous children back to normal humans. Although Esther's husband is willing to help, he puts a condition - Esther should leave Niklaus for him.

Elsewhere, Cami (Leah Pipes) will be seen spending the holiday season trying to save herself. Meanwhile, Kol (Daniel Sharman) will be seen trying to win the trust of Davina (Danielle Campbell) by helping her in devise a plan to get rid of Klaus. While doing so, Kol will revive a spell he created in 1914.

'The Originals' Season 4 mid-season finale will air on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 8 pm EST on the CW.
