As the 'Vampire Diaries' spinoff, 'The Originals', draws near its premiere date for the series' second season, CW released a teaser to give vampire, werewolf, and hybrid fans alike, a taste of what the show has in store for them.

During the season finale for its first season, original hybrid Klaus and then-werewolf Hayley were left with no choice but to send their daughter Hope with her aunt Rebekah, to protect her as her parents try to ward off the increasingly powerful Guerrera werewolf clan threatening to take over their territory, the French Quarter.

The trailer for the series' highly-anticipated second season shows emotions running high as Hayley struggles to adjust with her new status as a hybrid. It seems that the new hybrid has been struggling to keep her emotions (and cravings) at bay as she seen satiating herself on other peoples' necks during the entirety of the trailer.

Original vampire Elijah shows concern as Hayley seems to have spiraled out of control. The new hybrid will face enormous challenges as she deals with both her transformation and losing her daughter at the same time. Hayley is seen in the trailer as saying everything has changed; and that she was a mother before she had turned into a monster.

Meanwhile, Klaus will be wants to renew his alliance with Marcel in an attempt to regain control of the French Quarter. Although the two best friends have always had their differences, fans can expect that the two are likely to work alongside each other once again.

'The Originals' Season 2 premieres October 6 on CW.
