Mikael and Finn have come back to suck your blood! All joking aside, they have come back for the long awaited return of 'The Originals' Season 2 after its winter hiatus. Vampire fans will get to see more thrills, more drama, and more action as the Mikaelson family reveals their darkest secrets.

In the mid-season finale, viewers watched as the Mikaelsons forced Esther to make the ultimate decision: become a vampire, or die. Rebekah is in a dangerous position, what with being forced to trust the greedy Klaus and give up her immortal body. With Esther out of the picture and Rebekah caught in Esther's curse, what is next for the deadly Mikaelson family?

Executive producer Michael Narducci lent his insight into the world of the Mikaelson's in the upcoming mid-season premiere. According to Narducci, Finn will be playing a dangerous game. "It's going to be really interesting to see his strategy and his agenda coming into the new [year]," The producer reported. "Very quickly he becomes a threat and he uses Mikael ... to help him accomplish that."

Additionally, we may get a glimpse into Esther's history as a witch, and "what kind of deal she had to make to even be a mother to this family." Executive producer Julie Plec reveals that for her family, and for herself, Esther is willing to make a gruesome choice: "I cannot say whether she does or does not [transition into a vampire], but I can say that we learn which choice she made in the very first episode back,"
