Now that the series finale is just around the corner, rumor has it that Mindy and Jody might have to go their separate ways in the final episode of "The Mindy Project" season 4.

While the two characters finally kissed in the previous episode, TV Guide recently teased that a happy ending may not be for them. According to the website, Mindy will find out about a secret that Jody has been hiding from him, and this will upset him.

Rumors about the sad ending for Mindy and Jody give some hope to the fans of Mindy and Danny who are still keeping their fingers crossed that the two will end up together. However, the same website teased that Danny will create a commotion in the season finale which will leave one of their hearts broken. Fans have yet to know in the final episode on Tuesday whose heart is that.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that the series will be back with its 5^th season on October 4. The next installment will include a total of 16 episodes which will air every Tuesday on Hulu.

In a recent interview, showrunner Mindy Kaling revealed that the show's move to Hulu relieved her.

"I think that's great. I don't need the Wednesday morning panicky feeling," she said.

"The ratings from the night before govern your entire morning. I'm so happy not to be part of that anymore," she said.

She also revealed that she already has an ending in mind, as far as season 5 is concerned.
