'The Masked Saint' Movie To Premiere Friday, Expectations: Brett Granstaff-Starrer Predicted To Be Strong Despite Limited Audience

Warren Sonoda's action crime biopic "The Masked Saint" is set to hit theaters and it is predicted to be a strong film, while it covers a smaller market.

The number of people who gave green light for the film is imaginable, according to Cinema Blend. The publication also mentioned that the wrestling film had had real legs and the theme is assumed to cover a limited range of audience. It has been added that the film talks to the "converted."

According to Rotten Tomatoes, 73 percent of the audience expressed their interest to see "The Masked Saint." The film has 82 user ratings, but it does not have critic reviews yet. However, the Rotten Watch prediction for the film is 14 percent, according to Cinema Blend.

While "The Masked Saint" is one of the tough films predicted to gross more than $1 to 3 million after its release, it is unexpected to be part of the box office's top 10.

Sonoda's "The Masked Saint" is inspired from true events and serves as the first of several faith-based films that are produced by Ridgerock Entertainment Group's recently established "Ridgerock Faith" division.

Based on Chris Whaley's highly popular book of the same title, "The Masked Saint" centers on the exploits of former professional wrestler Chris Samuels, who retires from the ring to settle down as a small town pastor. His calling led Samuels to moonlight as a masked vigilant to combat the injustice and hide himself from the police.

"The Masked Saint" is Rated PG-13 for some violence and thematic elements, according to Grand Forks Herald. The film is also set be the last film role for the late WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper.

The film stars Joan Gregson, Jeff Jarrett, Patrick McKenna, Scott Nichol, James Preston Rogers, Mykel Shanneon Jenkins, T.J. McGibbon, Diahann Carroll, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Piper, and Brett Granstaff as Samuels, The Masked Saint.

Sonoda is at the helm of the film while Scott Crowell is on board for the film's screenplay. "The Masked Saint" is co-produced by Joe Sisto, Peter Hannoush, and David Anselmo, among others.

Sonoda's "The Masked Saint" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Jan. 8, 2016.
